Nevada Middle School track-and-field standouts Laura Kimmell and Claire Pritchett set new school records in the pole vault and shot put at Tuesday’s nine-school Joplin M.S. meet.

Kimmell, who had tied the previous school record set in 2002, with an eight-foot vault at Monday’s El Dorado Springs meet, watched as teammate Lilly Hart made it a three-way tie, with an eight-foot measurement of her own on Tuesday in Joplin.

Kimmell then rewrote the NMS history books with a vault of eight-feet, six-inches.

Pritchett, meanwhile, has continued to flourish, breaking her own school record in the shot put on Tuesday, with a measurement of 40-feet, one-inch. Pritchett’s previous record-mark was 39-feet, 11-inches.
