Parker Arthur Nielson
Parker Arthur Nielson 62, of Nevada passed away unexpectedly at his home, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018.
Parker was born April 18, 1956, in Cape Canaveral, Fla., to Joseph Nelson and Wyelene Mae (Hudson) Park. He married Buffi Jeanette Rose on Dec. 9, 1995, in Hot Springs, Ark., and she survives in the home.
Parker grew up in Stuart, Fla., graduating from Stuart High School in 1974. Following high school, Parker became a treasure hunter and worked for Mel Fisher Treasure Company and was part of the Spanish Galleon Atocha treasure find in 1985. Parker went on to attend the University of Miami and later Whartonís Business school. Parker moved to the Nevada area in the early 1990s working as a Financial Specialist for Auto Dealerships in Kansas City, Fort Scott, and Nevada. Later, he became the co-owner of AutoSpot Used Cars and owner of Party Inflatables and Kidís Trackless Trains.
In addition to his wife, Buffi, he is survived by his five children, Matthew Nielson of Aurora, Mo., Jordan Nielson of Pittsburg, Kan., Channing Nielson of Nevada, Mo., Taylor Nielson of Manhattan, Kan., and Jensen Nielson of Nevada, Mo; one grandson, Tresen Parker Nielson; his mother, Wyelene Coxwell of Waxahachie, Texas; one sister, Janet Lochridge and her husband, Mark, of Waxahachie, Texas; one brother, Charles Ginder of Raleigh, N.C.; and three nieces, Shaun Patterson, Callie Patterson, and Pearl Neal.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at 6 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will greet friends following the service from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tresen Nielson Scholarship Fund or the Nielson Family in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
