Nevada High freshman girls grappler Lotus Van Dyk was in dominant form Monday night, posting a 4-0 record at the Gem City Girls Scramble. The event was hosted by Diamond High School, and also featured wrestlers from Adrian, Buffalo, Branson, Erie (Kan), Monett, Parkview, Parsons (Kan), Reeds Spring, Seneca, and Webb City. Nevada head coach David Hawks said he was thrilled with Van Dyk’s showing. “She was competitive with each wrestler, and won (via) pin for three of her matches,” noted Hawks. “This was a great opportunity for her to compete in preparation for her districts (in) February.” Pictured above: Nevada High freshman Lotus Van Dyk, competing at 136 pounds, pins her opponent at Monday’s Gem City Girls Scramble.
