Bushwhacker Days canceled for 2020

Friday, April 24, 2020

According to a press release from the Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce, "After a very thoughtful discussion, the Board voted unanimously to cancel 'Bushwhacker Days' this year, as a result of COVID-19. Though stay-at-home orders are expected to be lifted by early June, the CDC and Governor Parsons recommend that citizens continue to practice social distancing while in public. Board members expressed regret for the decision, but felt that the safety of our community is important at this time. This is the first time in 56 years that our festival had to be cancelled."

"Planning for the 2021 festival is already underway with big name entertainment and lots of exciting activities included. The board discussed having an alternate celebration for the community sometime in late August. Citizens are encouraged to engage with the Chamber Facebook page to watch for details."
