Vernon County native J.R. Stratford has been virtually unbeatable on the Bull Riding circuit as of late, as the former junior world champion scored victories on back-to-back nights (June 19-20).

Friday in Green Ridge (Mo.), Stratford scored out at 83.5 in the long run. He then recorded the night's high-score in the short-go, with an 87 — en route to the bull-ride victory, and a $1,580 payday.

The following evening, Stratford suited up for an outing in Coldwater (Kan.), winning the Kansas Pro Rodeo Association-hosted bull-riding event. Fresh off his recent victories, Stratford has been extended an invitation to the Lucas Oil Invitational Bull-ride in Wheatland (Mo.) this weekend, as he's slated to compete in the Amped Up Pro Bull Tour event.

When he turns 18 later this year, Stratford will look to join the elite-level Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
