NRMC Foundation lights Tree of Shining Memories

Nevada Regional Medical Center Community Relations & Foundation Manager Natalie Eberhard was all smiles Friday night at the lighting of the Tree of Shining Memories. A holiday tradition that began in 1993 as the Hospice Tree of Shining Memories, this fundraiser offers the opportunity to dedicate a light to the honor or memory of loved ones who, for whatever reason, will not be gathered together during the holidays. Each gift of $10 to the NRMC Foundation will purchase a light to be placed on the special trees located on the southeast corner of the Vernon County Courthouse lawn and inside the NRMC hospital lobby. Funds raised through Tree of Shining Memories are designated for the NRMC Endowment Fund. This year's lighting observed social distancing guidelines in light of COVID-19. " Everyone was able to spread out and still hear just fine," noted Eberhard. Funds raised are down compared to last year by about $1,000. "People can still add memorial names for $10 each and they will be added to our listing that is posted in the lobby of the hospital and will be printed in our full page ad in the Nevada Daily Mail on Dec. 26," added Eberhard.
