Townships and broadband discussed at County Commission

Wednesday, February 10, 2021

With the recent inclement weather, county road conditions were discussed at Vernon County Commission Tuesday afternoon.

"The townships will get their 2021 allocation in probably early second quarter March or April," stated Presiding Commissioner Joe Hardin. "Some of the townships did get some FEMA money, so that will help those townships out."

Northern Commissioner Cindy Thompson also noted the upcoming replacement of broadband for the county. "They're going to need Vernon Countians to help do speed tests," stated Thompson. "They're working with a consultant who is helping us kind of map out where the bad spots are."

Thompson stated that further details concerning the broadband should be available in the near future, possibly within the next week.
