Ina Maxine Lee, 87, of Nevada, Mo., passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at Moore Few Care Center, in Nevada. Ina was born on May 31, 1933, in Couch, Mo., to Loren Bascom Wetzel and Delphia Florence (Phenix) Wetzel. She married the love of her life Carroll Jean Stephens in 1957 at West Plains, Mo. He preceded her in death in October of 1980. She was raised in West Plains, Mo., and graduated from West Plains High School in 1952. She worked for Stephens Laundry, Stephens Backhoe Service, and later owned dress shops in Mountain View, Mo., and West Plains, Mo.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Griggs and husband, Blaine, of Nevada, Mo., and Della Biesenthal and husband, David, of Wheaton, Kan.; stepdaughter, Carolyn Roberson of Texas; stepson, David Stephens of Texas; stepdaughter, Norabeth Newberry of Batesville, Ark.; stepdaughter, Cora Beatty of Texas; stepdaughter, Barbara Hawkins of Battlefield, Mo.; a sister, Betty Ingle and husband, Kenneth, of Marysville, Calif.; sister-in-law, Lola Wetzel of West Plains; and sister-in-law, Marlene Wetzel of Washington State. Also surviving is a grandson, Shaine Griggs and girlfriend, Jen Horstman of Kansas City, Mo.; granddaughter, Tara Bernasconi and husband, Daniel of Tulsa, Okla.; and granddaughter, Lora Day, and husband, Dominic, of Huntsville, Ala. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Ina was preceded in death by brothers, James Wetzel, Lonis Wetzel, and Richard Wetzel; and sisters, Lola Wetzel, Glenda Adkisson, Lucy Smith, and Donna Offutt.

Ina enjoyed visiting with family and friends, as well as, traveling with her sister and sister-in-law and completing crossword puzzles. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 10, at 1:30 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, Mo., with Pastor Bill Platt officiating. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the conclusion of the service. Interment will be held at a later date at the South Fork Cemetery in South Fork, Mo.

Contributions may be made in Ina’s memory to the Nevada First Christian Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Mo.

Those in attendance will be asked to maintain social distancing and are asked to wear face masks to protect themselves and others.
