The Nevada Regional Medical Center Board of Directors met in regular session Tuesday evening. For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the board met in the Mezzanine conference room at the hospital.

After a presentation by Jama Bogart on the Rural Health Clinic Annual Review, the board was presented with the request to purchase a new phone system for the entire facility by Director of Information Technology Marci Hardin. Hardin explained that the old phone system was antiquated. With the new system, provided by Momentum Telecom, there would be a 13 percent savings and it would update the techology. The cost difference will be static, or slightly less than current.

According to Hardin, the current monthly bill for the old phone system is $11,058.54, while the new Momentum system would be $9,609.96 per month. The set up of the system would take approximately four to six months to complete.
