Hailey Danielle McWherter

Hailey Danielle McWherter, 27, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in Kansas City, Mo., due to complications from COVID-19. Hailey was born April 20, 1994, in Joplin, Mo., to Kurt L. and Tracy L. (Osborne) Carpenter. She married Charles T. McWherter Jr. on May 19, 2018, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Hailey grew up in Joplin and later North Carolina and graduated from Joplin High School Class of 2012. She was an active member of the FFA and a past president. Hailey worked for Ducommun, INC. in Joplin for several years before coming to Nevada in 2018 following her marriage to Charles.

In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by two sons, Ryker and Parker McWherter, both of the home; her parents, Kurt and Tracy Carpenter, Joplin; one sister, Ashley McDowell (Ronnie), Carl Junction, Mo.; grandmother, Dara Shallenburger, Joplin; grandfather, Franklin Osborne, Tulsa, Okla.; mother-in-law, Theresa McWherter, Nevada; a brother-in-law, Ben McWherter, Nevada; and a niece and nephew. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Pastor Roger Beach officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
