Just seven days after Cottey College senior outside hitter Lily Miller was named Continental Athletic Conference Volleyball Defender of the Week, another Comet earned the same honor.

Freshman setter Staley Stallaby racked up 54 digs in five matches for Cottey (an average of 3.18 per set).

Staley contributed 17 digs and 11 assists in her team's home sweep over Ozark Christian College last Tuesday, but the Comets had little luck at the UHSP Tournament in St. Louis over the weekend — losing to St. Ambrose (18-25, 13-25, 14-25), Trinity International (18-25, 15-25, 17-25), St. Francis (28-26, 12-25, 19-25, 20-25), and Calumet (25-23, 19-25, 31-33, 12-25).

Cottey will look to rebound at noon on Saturday inside the Hinkhouse Center when it hosts Haskell Indian Nations University and Sterling College.
