Charles Edward Williams, 68, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a sudden illness. Charles was born April 24, 1954, in Falls Mills, W.V., to Denzil E. and Emma M. (Westfall) Williams. He married Ann R. Ricketts on July 6, 1985, in Bronaugh, and she survives of the home.

Charles was raised in Falls Mills, W.V., and later moved to Madison, Ohio. He spent most of his married life in Carl Junction, Mo. Charles owned and operated City Garages, a car repair and towing service in Joplin, later moving the business to Carl Junction. His towing service was also employed by Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury, Mo. Following many years of service, he retired in 2018.

Charles was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Carl Junction and was a current member of the Bronaugh United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by two children — a son, Dustin Williams, and a daughter, Rachael Williams, both of Joplin; two sisters, Donna Williams, Ohio, and Melaney Hyson, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Doris Ann Ricketts, Bronaugh; as well as extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Hope Snyder, Marcie Brown, and Kyle Wasserman; a brother, Herbie Grimes; and two nephews, Danny and Jeff Brown.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at Worsley Cemetery, in Bronaugh. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.

Memorials are suggested in his name to Tunnels to Towers or Worsley Cemetery in care of Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.
