State Representative Barney Fisher has announced that he has filed for re-election as state representative for the 125th District. The 125th District consists of all of Vernon County and the western half of Bates County.

Fisher's House committee assignments are:

* Vice chairman, Veterans Affairs.

* Vice chairman, Special Committee on Agriculture-Business.

* Vice chairman, Special Committee Investigating the Second Injury Fund.

* Member, Agriculture-Appropriations.

* Member, Retirement Committee

* Member, Workforce Development and Workforce Safety Committee

Legislation Rep. Fisher is sponsoring this year includes:

* HJR 71 -- A resolution to add six new veterans homes in Missouri.

* HB 2041 -- A bill to comply with Federal Mandates regarding security of personal information.

* HCR 18 -- Supports establishing US Highway 71 as an interstate highway designated I-49.

In his two terms, Fisher has received the following awards: Legislator of the year in the category of Mental Health Advocacy Associated Industries of Missouri Friend of Business Award American Legion Representative of the Year Friend of Agriculture by Missouri Farm Bureau.
