Alma H. Phillips, 81, of Sheldon, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at her daughter's home in Sheldon following a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 6, 1922, in Shamrock, Okla., to Eugene and Sarah Strickland Hart. On Feb. 5, 1941, she married Joseph Phillips in Drumright, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1970. Alma grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from high school there as valedictorian of her graduating class. She came with her family to Sheldon in 1960 and has lived there ever since. She worked at Nelly-Don in Nevada for 10 years until her retirement.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol Sneed, of Sheldon, Eva Robb, Nevada, Reba Piper, Sheldon, and Sally Bogart, Sheldon; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gus Hart, Sheldon, and Neal Hart, Fairgrove, Mo.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Beeny-Ferry Funeral Home in Sheldon. Interment will follow in the Sheldon cemetery with her nephew, Bobby Hart, officiating.
