Marie Lucille Banghart

Marie Lucille Banghart, 86, of Nevada, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Raymore Health Center in Raymore. She was born July 8, 1917, to George Calvin and Dorothy Faye Miller Stokes in Butler.

Marie, one of three children, was raised in rural Butler where she attended the Pleasant Valley Grade School. She graduated from Butler High School in 1936. Marie worked for the Bates County Cheeseplant for a short time after graduating. On June 1, 1947 she was united in marriage to Roy Banghart in Butler and she moved to Kansas City where she worked for Nellie Don Clothing until her retirement in 1975. Marie moved to Nevada where she has resided since 1975. Marie attended the Peru Methodist Church.

Marie is survived by her brother, Calvin Stokes of Raymore; one sister, Erma Pippin of Butler; and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Roy Banghart.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 17, at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler with the Rev. Bill Perkey officiating. Burial in Newton Burial Park Cemetery, Nevada. Contributions may be given to the charity of choice. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, April 17 at the chapel.
