Thelma Marie Still

Thelma Marie Still, 76, Liberal, Mo., died July 28, 2004, at Freeman Health Systems in Joplin following a short illness. She was born on Sept. 22, 1928, in Monseratt, Mo., the daughter of Rueben and Gladys (Palmer) Dukes.

She was retired as a private nurse. She attended the Baptist Church in Liberal, Mo.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Lucas, Sedro Wooley, Wash.; two sons, Steven Still, McKinney, Texas, and Edward Still, of the state of Florida; seven sisters, Velma Still, Colorado Springs, Colo., Lavon Potter, Jasper, Mo., Doris Favor, Westville, Okla., Beverly McCurdy, Kingsville, Mo., Wanda Loveall, Lamar, Mo,. Alto Carpenter, Liberal, Mo., and Alma Swain, St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Still; one brother, Jack Dukes; and three sisters, Fern Bern, Mary Chrisenberry and Ruby McQueen.

Services will be held at the Konantz-Warden Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 31, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery in Montevallo, Mo. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Tim Bern, Doug Carpenter, Tony Carpenter, Mike Loveall, Darrell McCurdy and Wayne Favor.
