Donald Etna Loiselle

Donald Etna Loiselle, 64, Nevada, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born July 11, 1940, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to William and Pearl Loiselle. He married Alberta J. Stewart on Jan. 25, 1971, in Miami, Okla., and she preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 2003.

He was raised and attended school in Cornell, Wis. In 1958, he went to work as an over-the-road truck driver hauling livestock. He moved to Nevada in 1960 where he worked for Thorpe's G.E. Dealership and Ellis Furniture Company. In 1965, he worked for three years as patrolman for the city of Rich Hill and for the police department of Lamar. He was chief of police in Adrian for one year, and worked for the Vernon County Sheriff's Department for 17 years, from 1969-1987, as deputy sheriff and jailer. He left in 1987 and went back to driving and he retired in 1989 due to health reasons. He was a charter member of the Nevada Eagles Lodge No. 3770.

Survivors include his children, Richard Loiselle, Nevada, Ron Loiselle, Nixa, Mo., LeeDonna York, Nevada, DeNita Hutchison, Schell City, Elaine Schfichting, Lamar, Mitch Pryor, Nevada, Kathy Pryor, Galena, Mo., and Joe Pryor, Cleburne, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a half brother, Chuck Tyler, Cornell, Wis.; and a half sister, Carlene Potoski of Minnesota. In addition to his wife, Alberta, of Nevada, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard L. Loiselle; and two sisters, Sandra May Young and Phyllis Gilbert, all of Wisconsin.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 2, at Moore Cemetery, Nevada, with Jerry Pyle and Herb Doering officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., today, April 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
