Jeffrey Jackson Swearingen, 42, Nevada, died May 24, 2005, in Nevada. He was born Oct. 2, 1962, in Nevada, to David Jackson Swearingen and La Mae Neas Swearingen.

Jeff grew up in Nevada, and graduated from Nevada High School in 1981. In 1982 he went to the University of Missouri in Columbia and became a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He graduated from the University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. Jeff had been employed by the First National Bank of Nevada since 1987. He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church of Nevada.

Survivors include one daughter, Jadyn Mattie Swearingen, Nevada; one son, Carter Jackson Swearingen, Nevada; his mother, La Mae N. Bryant, Nevada; his father, David Swearingen and his wife, Susan, Nevada; two brothers, Matthew Swearingen and his wife, Joyce, Nevada, and Joseph Swearingen and his wife, Sarah, Nevada; and one nephew, Owen Wooddy Swearingen, Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, at the United Methodist Church, Nevada, with the Very Rev. Mimi Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in Deepwood Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 9 a.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
