Earnest E. Toepfer

Earnest E. Toepfer, 46, Walker, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 19, 1958, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Dollie Rosella Toepfer. He married Dawn R. Wallace on April 7, 2000, in Eureka Springs, Ark., and she survives of the home.

He grew up in Nevada, and graduated from Nevada High School in 1977. He lived and worked in Florida for four years, from 1991 to 1995. He then came back to Vernon County in 1995 where he has lived ever since. He has been involved in Boy Scouts and served as a first responder for Vernon County for the past two years. He worked for Murphy Farms from 1999 to 2004 until his retirement due to poor health.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Dawn, include two sons, Brandon Toepfer, Pensacola, Fla., and Kenny Wolfe, Slidell, La.; three daughters, Brandy Santella, Slidell, La., Lindsay Toepfer, Foster, Mo., and Whitney Toepfer, Foster, Mo.; six grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Buckner, Nevada; and one brother, James Buckner, Carthage. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosey Buckner, on April 21, 1998.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 28, at Green Mound Cemetery, Harwood. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
