Everett Lloyd Gire

Everett Lloyd Gire, 48, Stockton, formerly of Sheldon, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in Stockton.

He was born March 10, 1957, in McCloud, Calif., to Charles Kendall and Francine Spence Gire.

Everett grew up in Vernon County and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1974. He served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1980 as a tank commander. He served in Korea and Germany. He had lived in Jasper County for 15 years prior to recently moving to Cedar County.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Watson, Stockton; one son, Charles Gire, Stockton; four grandchildren, Bailey Gire, Leah Gire, Aiden Watson, and Lyric Gire; his mother, Francine Gire, Duenweg, Mo.; seven brothers, Chuck, state of Colorado, Clayton, Columbia, Mo., Elmer Lee, Wichita, Kan., Kendall, Lamar, Leon, Sheldon, Ernest, Joplin, and Bobby, Bentonville, Ark.; four sisters, Denise, Joplin, Rachelle, Milo, Lenora, Joplin, and Rebecca, Duenweg, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, July 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service. The family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 13, at the funeral home.
