Margie Inez Simmons, age 82, of Nevada, died on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at the Joe Clark Residential Care Home in Nevada. She was born on Feb. 4, 1923, in Nevada, to Larkin C. Howell and Grace Estelle Lentz Howell. On Aug. 12, 1944, she was married in Fort Scott, Kan., to Lloyd Thomas Simmons and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1979.

Margie was a lifelong resident of Nevada and attended Nevada schools. She worked for Key Work Clothes for I5 years and also for the Nevada R-5 School District for several years. She had been a resident of the Spring Village Apartments in Nevada since 1985 until recently moving to the Joe Clark Residential Care Home in October of this year.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly S. Campbell and her husband Jack of Olathe, Kan.; one son, George Simmons and his wife Rene of Nevada; four grandchildren, Shauna L. Smith and her husband Scott, Courtney Simmons, Shawn Campbell, and Shelly Hoffman; five great-grandchildren, Hayden Smith, Avery Smith, Jack Campbell, Hannah Campbell, and Jessica Hoffman; one brother, George Howell, San Diego, Calif., and one sister, Cora Belle Link, Independence, Mo.

In addition to her husband Lloyd, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Charlie; three brothers, and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Mike Satterlee officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery.

Friends may call from Monday morning until the hour of service on Tuesday and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., on Monday evening at the funeral home.
