Daisy Mae Sherrick

Daisy Mae Sherrick, 86, Nevada, Mo., passed away Friday, March 31, 2006, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Nevada, to Andrew Bone Matthews and Helen Alida Terry Matthews. Daisy married Frank O. Sherrick on Dec. 25, 1940, in Lamar, Mo., and he survives of the home.

Daisy was a homemaker and caregiver to her son "Bub", grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Church of The Nazarene.

In addition to her husband Frank, she is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Sherrick and wife Diana and Frank E. "Bub" Sherrick Nevada; one daughter, Mary L. Werst and husband Floyd, Nevada; one grandson Shawn Werst and wife Chanda and great-grandson, Gavon, Strafford, Mo.; one granddaughter, Lisa Nicewaner and husband Sean and great-granddaughter, Paige, Liberty, Mo.; one sister, Ruth Seitz and nephew Mike, Rich Hill, Mo. Several other nephews and one niece also survive.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ward Matthews, Fred Matthews, Charles Matthews and C. B. Matthews; three sisters, Gertrude Helen Matthews, Harriet Richardson and Jennie Weltshire.

Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 1, at Newton Burial Park with the Rev. Mike Satterlee officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
