J.D. (James D.) Ochsner

J.D. (James D.) Ochsner of Nevada, Mo., has traveled on. He died on July 18, 2006, after a short illness. J. D. was born on Dec. 12, 1930, in Nevada, the only child of Frank Ochsner and Sarah Ethel Willis Ochsner.

J.D. graduated from Nevada High School in 1948. He was a Korean War Veteran in the 187th Airborne Division stationed in Japan and Korea. He spent several years as a Merchant Marine traveling the world, which began his career as "Travel 'n Ochsner." J.D. traveled the world by himself, with friends, and with his only child, Jeana Dianne Ochsner of Raleigh, N.C. J.D. and Jeana returned just recently from a wonderful trip to Eastern Europe, visiting Croatia and Slovenia. J.D. was well known and well loved throughout the world by those he touched during his lifetime.

Jeana wishes to thank all the friends who helped keep track of her "Travel 'n Dad." Per J.D.'s wishes, a memorial will be held. The memorial will be at Casa Azteca on Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m.

Jeana requests donations be made in J.D.'s honor to the Pentecostal Assembly of God Church, Nevada, or the American Diabetes Association, 1944 A. East Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65804.

J.D.'s remains will be inurned at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, at a future date.
