Mildred Mary Haney

Mildred Mary Haney, 80, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born on Aug. 24, 1926, in Macks Creek, Mo., to Charles Chester Eldred and Bertha Christine Jetter Eldred. She and Earl William Haney were married in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death in November 1966.

Mildred was born and reared in Macks Creek, and attended school there. She lived most of her life in Macks Creek and had also lived in Kansas City and Tulsa. In the mid '70s, Mildred moved to Nevada where she has lived ever since. During her lifetime, she has worked various places such as Windemere Baptist Bible Camp, National Bellis Hess in Kansas City and the Mitchell Hotel in Nevada. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Macks Creek and later the Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include one son, John Haney, Shreveport, La.; one daughter, Donna Gordey, Fort Smith, Ark.; six grandchildren, Amber Fleaman, Rachel Watson, Sarah Haney, Paul Haney, Angela Conn and Darrell Gordey Jr.; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Majorie North, Adrian, Mo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Casey Eldred; and one sister, Mabel Klump.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 28, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
