Younggren -- Pruett wed

Meleesa Louise Younggren, daughter of the late Linda Colvin Adams and John Younggren, Fort Scott, Kan., and William Thomas Pruett III, son of Gerald and Eletra Pobst, Sikeston, Mo., were married June 10, 2006, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Olathe, Kan. The Rev. Ron Cornish celebrated the nuptial mass.

The bride wore a light champagne colored, cathedral length, silk gown and fingertip veil featuring hand beaded Swarovsky crystals and pearls. She wore her great-great grandmother's gold bangle bracelet and a diamond tennis bracelet presented to her by her groom as a wedding gift. She carried a bouquet of red roses and stargazer lilies.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Jason Younggren, Olathe, Kan. Dr. Tara Neil, Chicago, cousin of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Jeanne Shotton, Baldwin City, Kan., Karen Beason, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Amy Greenwood, Columbia, Mo., and Monica Younggren, Olathe, Kan., sister-in-law of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Allea Younggren, niece of the bride, Olathe, Kan., was the flower girl and the ring bearers were Alec Younggren, Olathe, Kan., and Gage Adams, Pleasanton, Kan., both nephews of the bride. Candlelighters were Kelsey Adams, Iola, Kan., niece of the bride and Chandler Greenwood, Columbia, Mo. Jay Greenwood, Columbia, Mo., was the best man. Dr. Carl VanTasell, Overland Park, Kan., Mike Niemeyer, Columbia, Mo., Gerald Pobst, stepfather of the groom, Sikeston, Mo., and Jason Younggren, served as groomsmen.

Brian and Erin Kelenc, Denver, served as readers for the mass. The bride's personal attendant was her cousin Kati Bolte, Manhattan, Kan. Ushers were Justin Bolte, Manhattan, and Chris VanTyle, La Cygne, Kan. Shane Younggren, Uniontown, Kan., cousin of the bride, pianist, and Andrea Tinsley, Liberty, Mo., violinist, provided music for the ceremony, including a duet performed by Kristin Beason, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Gena Clounch, Iola, Kan.

A dinner reception was held at Meadowview Gardens, with cakes featured by award winning cake designer Rebecca Sutterby, Galesburg, Kan. The meal was catered by Gary Harvey, Devon, Kan.
