Sarah Belle Johnson, 45, Nevada, Mo., passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo. She was born July 25, 1961, to Roy Johnson Jr. and Margie Louise Brooks Johnson.

Sarah graduated from Walker High School in 1980. She then attended Fort Scott Community College receiving her Registered Nursing Degree in 1987. Sarah was a lifetime resident of Vernon County. She worked at Nevada City Hospital, Heartland Behavorial Hospital and Medicalodge of Nevada during her career. She was employed by Oxford Home Healthcare at the time of her death. Sarah was a member of the First Christian Church of Nevada where she taught Sunday school for the Christian Builders Group. Sarah will be missed greatly by friends and family.

Survivors include her mother, Margie Johnson, of the home; four sisters, Audrey Hamel and her husband John, Hume, Mo., Nancy Johnson, Nevada, Debbie Barnes and her husband Tom, Walker, Peggy Deming and her husband Ed, Nevada; one brother, Jim Johnson and his wife Avis, Hume; four nephews; three nieces; eight great-nephews; and seven great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Johnson; and one nephew, Colby Deming.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 18, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in East Liberty Cemetery, Stotesbury, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 4-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 17, at the funeral home.

Her journey's just begunlife holds so many facets-this earth is only one/ Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of wamth and comfort where there are no days and years/ Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away/ And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched, for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much!
