Dustin Brent Bland, 17, of El Dorado Springs, Mo., went to be with his Savior on Dec. 16, 2006, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Dustin was born to Brent and Jennifer Pyle Bland on Sept. 2, 1989.

He was an exemplary student in the El Dorado Springs High School where he was known for his quiet demeanor and sly humor. He was a member of the EHS marching, concert and jazz bands. He had been selected as a 2007 class member of People to People student ambassador to Australia. His passion was art and music. Dustin was a member of the Community Church of El Dorado Springs. He committed his life to Christ a couple of years ago and recently exhibited a greater zeal in his Christian walk.

He is survived by his parents of the home, brother, Tyler of Kansas City, Mo.; grandparents, Clifford and Leona Bland of El Dorado Springs; aunts and uncles, David and Helen Haralson, Wayne and Jackie Montgomery, Tom and Anita Long, Mike and Janie Pyle, Kirk and Kerri Bland; and a host of other relative and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Lena Pyle; and a cousin, Jeremy Pyle.

Services will be held at the El Dorado Springs High School gym on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Music provided by Tim Louderback and Sydney Friar. Pallbearers are Ben Janes, Wesley Englund, Jordan Kirby, Tyler Bland, Tyler Schweizer, Tyler Hillsman, Kyle Bland. Honorary pallbearers are Sarah Bender, Samantha Helm, Nikki Friar, Sydney Friar, Wacey Rivale and Whitney Benham. Burial will be in the El Dorado Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Community Church to be left at the funeral home.
