James E. Prine Jr., 79, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born May 6, 1927, in Kansas City, Mo., to James Eddie Prine Sr. and Golda Mawhiney Prine. He married Mary Wanda Springer on Feb. 7, 1948, in Wheatland, Mo., and she survives of the home.

James was reared in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from high school in Wheatland. James served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-'46. He moved to Nevada in the late 1950's and lived the remainder of his life here. He worked as a supervisor at Junior House, Inc. in Nevada.

Survivors in addition to his wife Mary, include one son, James Duane Prine and his wife, Denise, Milo, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Prine, Harrisonville, Mo., Jessie Prine, Metz, Mo., Susan Miller, Milo, Lee Prine, Nevada, Andrew Miller and Lucas Miller, both of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Jamie Prine, Milo, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Mary Elain.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Tom Pyle officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., today, Jan. 3, at the funeral home.
