Dorothy F. Dailey, 83, passed away suddenly Jan. 14, 2007, in Springfield, Mo. She was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Ames, Iowa, to Norvil D. Floyd and Lola Moore Floyd. On Nov. 2, 1945, she married Ralph R. Dailey who preceded her in death in 1977.

Besides being a mother and a homemaker, Dorothy was a bank teller at Sheldon State Bank while residing in Milo, Mo. After moving to Springfield she worked at Montgomery Ward and retired from Dr. Wade Mitchell's office at the age of 81. Dorothy was loved and admired by friends and family.

Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Martha Merrell and husband, Mike, Forsyth, Mo., Gerri Mitchell and husband, Wade, Springfield and Susie Schamburg, Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren, Chris and Mary Mitchell, Nevada, Jeff and Allison Merrell, Forsyth, Michael Mitchell, St. Louis, Mo., Andrea and Brian Deckard, Nixa, Mo., Courtney and Mark Taylor, Guam, Eric Schamburg and Adam Schamburg, Prairie Village, Kan.; seven great-grandchildren, Easton, Brett and C.J. Mitchell, Abby and Emma Mitchell, Calvin Deckard and Olivia Taylor; sister, Vjay Sherk, Clearwater, Fla; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield. A service will also be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Milo Baptist Church followed by burial in the Milo Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
