Vernon L. "Bud" Hamilton

Vernon L. "Bud" Hamilton, of Protem, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Feb. 28, 2007. Bud the son of Harlan and Laverne Hamilton, was born March 21, 1934, in Stockton, Mo.

He grew up in Nevada, Mo., and then moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he met and married the love of his life, Madalene. Together they owned and operated Hamilton Painting Co. in the Greater K.C. Area for 45 years. Bud, an avid fisherman and hunter was able to achieve his dream and retire at Bull Shoals Lake, Protem. Bud was devoted to his family and friends, always taking care of others first. Bud is a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He is cherished by many and will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bud is survived by his wife, Madalene Hamilton of Protem; daughter, Sheriel Wrigley and fiancé, Russ Anderson; and her son, Matt Wrigley of Kansa sCity, Mo.; son, Craig Hamilton and fiancé, Pam Arnold of Springfield, Mo., and their children, Eric Hamilton, Ashleigh Arnold and Alecia Lofton; son, Darrell Hamilton and wife, Christine, their children, Rebekah and Suzanne Hamilton of Kansas City, Mo.; sister, Marcella Scism of Nevada, Mo.; brother, Denzel Hamilton of Warsaw, Mo.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Laverne Hamilton; sister, Lucille Newell; brother, James O. Hamilton; son, Vernon Hamilton Jr. and his wife, Charlene Hamilton; and son-in-law, Bob Wrigley.

A visitation was held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., on Saturday, March 3, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, Mo. The service followed at 1 p.m., in the chapel. A graveside service took place at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, March 3, at the Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Mo.
