Jack B. Wagner, 79, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Scottville, Mich., to John J. Wagner and Martha Bertran Wagner. He married Emily Roberta Zaring Long on Nov. 7, 1974, in Anchorage, Alaska, and she survives of the home.

Jack grew up and graduated from high school in Custer, Mich. He served in the U.S. Navy three years during World War II. He lived and worked in Alaska until 1979 when he and Roberta moved back to Missouri. He was a restaurant/bar owner in Alaska for many years. After moving to Nevada, he worked at Cottey College as a carpenter until his retirement in 1993.

Survivors in addition to his wife Roberta, include four sons, James Lee Hardin, Nevada, Jearld Wayne Hardin, Seattle, Wash., Billy Joe Hardin, Nevada, and John W. Hardin, Beaver Creek, Ore.; one daughter, Jana Denise Phelps, Anchorage, Alaska; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael Wagner, Luddington, Mich.; and two sisters, Rita Wagner, Custer, Mich., and Patty Genter, Luddington.

Memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 16, at 11: a.m., with the Rev. Johannes Braun officiating.
