Orville Theodore "Scotty" Scott, 86, of Nevada, died Friday Aug. 10, 2007, in El Dorado Springs, following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Scott was born Jan. 12, 1921, in Carrolton, Mo. to Albert Scott and Ida Jane Burkhart Scott. Mr. Scott grew up in Nevada and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Following the service, he returned to this area and worked at a number of jobs, including the Nevada State Hospital, retiring there in 1983. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for 54 years. He was also a member of the Nevada Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Louise, of the home, two daughters, Marsha Sharp, El Dorado Springs and Debbie Brendlinger, Nevada, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Orville Wayne Scott and by a twin sister, Elizabeth Gaddy.

Graveside services will be held on Monday Aug. 13, at 10 a.m., at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 9:30 a.m. Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
