Charles Joseph McHugh, 62, Nevada, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007. Joe was born March 9, 1945, in Greensburg, Pa., to Virgil E. McHugh and Mary Brunot McHugh. He married Connie L. Neill on Jan. 20, 1972, in Versailles, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Joe grew up in St. Louis, Mo. (in the Jennings area), and graduated from McBride Catholic High School. Following high school, he went to Southeast Missouri State University for 4 years where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He has been an independent insurance sales agent all of his working life. Joe also worked with his wife, Connie, in primary learning pre-school for many years. He and his family came to Nevada from Hillsboro, Ore., in 1987 where they have since lived. Joe was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Nevada, active in youth soccer, a certified soccer referee, active in Nevada Little League Baseball for a number of years and an avid Cardinal baseball fan and fisherman.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Connie, include two daughters, Monica Greer, Des Moines, Iowa, and Robin McHugh, Nevada; two sons, Padraic McHugh and his fiancee Kim, La Center, Wash. and Casey McHugh and his wife Leann, Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren, Emily, Devin, Sydnie and baby Mac; his mother, Mary McHugh, St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Kevin McHugh, Hillary McHugh and Michael McHugh, and three sisters, Kathy McHugh, Mary McHugh and Jennifer Kuhlmann and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Patricia Hahn.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Nevada, with Pastor Kim Osborn officiating. Friends may call now and until 10 a.m. Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and the family receives friends 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Wednesday evening.
