Dixie Lee Goodnough, 78, Franklin, Kan., passed away on Wednesday, Sept.19, 2007, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo. She was born Jan. 7, 1929 in Garfield, Ark., to Orville A. Keene and Bessie Pearl Dorris Keene. She was married Sept. 22, 1946, to Marquis D. Brizendine and he preceded her in death March 23, 1998.

At the age of four Mrs. Goodnough came to Moundville, Mo., and grew up in that area. She was reared by her mother and stepfather Adam Senkevech. She was a licensed cosmetologist and also worked at the Nevada State Hospital for a number of years.

Survivors include three children; Linda Gordon, Springfield, Mo., Carolyn Dickey and her husband Ron, Arma, Kan., and Mark Brizendine and his wife Carol, Norborne, Mo.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nadine Ashley, Taylor, S.C., and Vinona Gifford, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; three brothers, Tom Senkevech, Nevada, Mo., Jack Senkevech, Terrell, Texas and Max Senkevech, Bronaugh. Mo., and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse and one sister, Wilma Lathrom and two brothers. Willis "Dub" Keene and Howard Senkevech and a special aunt, Hazel Crouse.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Jeff Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Deerfleld Cemetery, Deertfield, Mo. Friends may call after noon on Saturday and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
