Sidney and Helen Colwell, of Fort Scott, announce the engagement of their daughter, Alissa Anne Colwell, to James Bradley Thompson, son of Brad and Paula Thompson, Jackson, Mo.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Fort Scott High School. She attended Fort Scott Community College and is employed by Anthem BCBS of MO.

Prospective-groom Thompson is a 2000 graduate of Jackson High School. He is employed by Standley Batch Systems.

The couple will be married on Sept. 6, 2008, at 1 p.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, in Jackson, Mo.
