Dorothy Louise DeCoudres, age 90, of Fort Scott, Kan., died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Fort Scott Medicalodge. She was born Feb. 11, 1918, in Fort Scott the daughter of Thomas Secrest and Rosa Belle Allen Secrest. Dorothy married Clayton E. DeCoudres on Jan. 23, 1938 in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1979. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Old Forters Camping Club and the Fort Scott Garden Club. She loved quilting.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley McMillan, Fort Worth, Texas, Betty Hixon and husband Dale, Fort Scott and Roberta Armstrong and husband Stan, Arlington, Texas. Also surviving is a brother Carl Secrest and wife Helen, Springfield, Mo.; brother-in-law Carl DeCoudres, Larned, Kan.; sisters-in-law Esther Secrest and Ruby DeCoudres, both of Fort Scott; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Everett and Ernest Secrest; and a son-in-law, Kenneth McMillan.

The Rev. Paul Rooks will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Monday in the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
