Loren Glenn Rinehart

Loren Glenn Rinehart, 77, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at 4:35 a.m., after a 14 month battle with cancer.

Loren was born April 14, 1931, in Lamar, Mo., son of the late Joe H. Rinehart and Jessie M. Still Rinehart. Loren served in the National Guard, and he worked as an accountant for King Press and then Vicker's until his retirement in the mid 1970s. He became a contractor at this time, building and remodeling homes in the Joplin area. He was a member of the Blendville Christian Church where he served as an usher from time to time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Galene Rinehart, who died Dec. 17, 1997.

He married Shirley A. Schneickert on Nov. 25, 2001, in Joplin, she survives.

Additional survivors include a brother, Joe H. Rinehart and wife Margaret, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; stepchildren, including, Charles Dan Schneickert, of Joplin, and Debbie Canning, of Carlsbad, Calif.; seven step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m., at Parker Mortuary Chapel, with pastor Virgil Eubanks and Larry Richardson officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 2 p.m., in Lake Cemetery, in Lamar, Mo.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary today from 7 to 8 p.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. John's Hospice.
