Katie Estelle Sisseck, 88, of Liberal, Mo., entered through the gates of heaven on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, in Fort Scott. She was born on Feb. 8, 1920, in Barton County, Mo., the fourth of six children to Tony Rolando and Sarah Elizabeth Greer Rolando.

She married Ray Earl Sisseck on April 17, 1937, in Lamar, Mo., and he preceded her in death on June 13, 1991. To this union four children were born: Robert Sisseck and his wife Brenda, of Moundville, Mo., Betty Smith and her husband Marvin, of Liberal, Mo., Lloyd Sisseck wand his wife JoAnn, of Nevada, and Wayne Sisseck and his wife Mary, of Deerfield, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Hazel Marie Bogart and her husband B.H., of Nevada; many nieces and nephews, and her numerous friends and loved ones of whom she spoke compassionately, including the "little flock" attending the Liberal Church of God Holiness. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Hurchal, Fred, Jesse and infant Winfred.

Katie and Ray, along w/her parents, re-opened the Bluff Community Church, in the 1940s, and she held many services there as late as 2007. Katie was pastor of the rural Bluff Community Church, in Irwin, Mo., and Church of God Holiness, in Liberal, Mo., for approximately 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 15, at the Church of God Holiness, in Liberal, with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Bluff Cemetery, in Barton County, Mo. Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., today, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
