Shannon and Scott Bruegge

John and Nita Campbell, Steve and Debbie Shepard, and Dave and Beverly Bruegge announce the wedding of Shannon Shepard and Scott Bruegge. The surprise wedding took place on June 28, 2008. The couple invited family and friends to a tropical wedding send off party, then after the guest arrived they announced they were getting married.

The event was held at the couple's home in Raymore, Mo. Tiki Torches lined the entrance which led to a tropical paradise in the backyard. Each guest was given a lei to welcome them to the event. A large tent with twinkle lights, tropical parrots and tropical hanging lanterns set the mood. The bride entered from atop the deck, the stairs were lined with seaside fringe and seashells. The guests rang bells for the entrance of the bride and cheered with excitement. The couple then exchanged their written vows.

Dinner was served after the ceremony. The guests were served a selection of grilled meats and festive sides from Perazelli's. A Caribbean band played live music into the night. Frozen drinks and Mexican beers were served, along with chips and salsa for the "real feel" of Mexico. The couple then went to Cancun, Mexico, for a week's stay at the Moon Palace Resort.

Shannon works for the Missouri Department of Corrections as a parole officer. Scott is the Midwest regional vice president for Durham School Services.
