Sarah and Andrew Florio

The historic Three Village area of Long Island, N.Y., was the setting for the wedding of Sarah Beth Lovinger and Andrew Joseph Florio, on Sept. 13, 2008. The marriage celebration took place at Setauket Presbyterian Church, the church in which Andrew was reared. Urns of hydrangeas and roses blended with the simplicity of the 1812 church sanctuary. The officiants for the service were the Rev. Greg Ferree, childhood pastor to the bride, the Rev. Mark Curtis, friend of the groom, and the Rev. James Wallace, pastor of Setauket Presbyterian.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Warren Lovinger of Nevada, Mo., and the groom is the son of Mrs. Carol Florio, of Setauket, N,Y.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Anjolique strapless gown in ivory, with lace and crystals adorning the bodice and cathedral length train. Her pearl necklace and earrings were a gift from the groom. She carried a full bouquet of ivory white old fashioned roses. The bride's two honor attendants were Deanna Ferree Womack, of Zahle, Lebanon, and the bride's sister, Laura Lovinger, of Springfield, Mo. Her bridesmaids included Lori Wiyrick, of Nevada, and Aundrea Morris, of Springfield. They wore full-length strapless dresses in eggplant satin. Their beaded necklaces and earrings were designed and made by Deanna Womack. They carried bouquets of old fashioned white and pink roses.

The groom was attended by his cousin as best man, Donald Pius II, of Setauket, N.Y. Groomsmen were Scott Wilson, of Philadelphia, Pa., Jeffrey Brill, of Washington, D.C., and Seth Funt, of West Palm Beach, Fla. Ushers were Thomas Lovinger and Daniel Lovinger, brothers of the bride. Program attendants were Emily Pius and Morgan Pius, cousins of the groom.

A reception was held at the historic Three Village Inn of Stony Brook, N.Y. Guests enjoyed New England style hors d'oeuvres on the patio overlooking Stony Brook Harbor, with dinner and dancing following in the Harborside Room. Floral arrangements of red-tipped hydrangeas, dark red and deep pink roses decorated the tables.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's mother, Carol Florio, was held at Wide Water, the estate of the groom's Aunt Lisa and Uncle Don Pius, in Old Field, N.Y. Pre-wedding events included a bridal shower in Nevada on Aug. 2, 2008. It was hosted by Deanna Womack, Melody Ferree, Molly Ferree, and Keila Ferree.

Following a short honeymoon to the Hamptons, the newlyweds are at home in Greenville, S.C. The bride is a second-year resident in Internal Medicine with the Greenville Hospital System. The groom is pastor of Providence Presbyterian Church in Powdersville, S.C.
