Ann Elizabeth "Bibby" Henry

Ann Elizabeth "Bibby" Henry, 91, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 24, 2008, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born April 15, 1917, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Frederick Augustus and Charlotte (McPeters) Baldwin.

She was a graduate of Fort Scott High School and Fort Scott Junior College. She had worked at intervals for the Fort Scott Tribune as a proofreader and assistant editor. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and of Chapter CA, PEO.

She married Herbert Richard Henry on March 16, 1947, in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death March 1, 2000.

She is survived by two sons, Michael B. Henry, of Tucson, Ariz., and Larry K. Henry, of Lawrence, Kan.; five granddaughters, Mary Foster, Lerin Combs, Laura Corey, Susan Brown, and Taylor Kober; three great-grandsons, Aidan Combs, Tristan Combs, and Landon Kober; and one great-granddaughter, Brynlee Kober. In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Frederick A. Baldwin Jr., her first husband, Robert Carl Moore, and their daughter, Ann Moore Cohen.

Following cremation, Father Robert McElwee will conduct memorial services 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the FSCC Endowed Scholarship Fund, and may be left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
