At 4:58 p.m., there was a report of a kitchen fire at 8181 W. Austin. On arrival, interior crews found fire on the stove top and up the wall. The fire was extinguished and was confined to the wall and vent hood. The cause was determinded to be from items left cooking unattended. Damage was estimated at $700.
