Ruby Frances Middaugh

Ruby Frances Middaugh, 95, Raymore, Mo., formerly of Nevada, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at the Rehabilitation Center of Raymore following a lengthy illness. She was born March 13, 1913, in Schell City, Mo., to Archie V. Nichols and Iva J. Martin Nichols. She was married Dec. 1, 1929, in Schell City, Mo., to Homer T. Wallen and he preceded her in death February of 1984. She later married Glen B. Middaugh Nov. 27, 1984, and he died in 1992.

Mrs. Middaugh lived in Nevada, until she moved to the Kansas City area in 2004 to be near her sons. While living in Nevada, Ruby worked at the old Moore's Department Store and Rinehart's Jewelry Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, Oliver Dean Wallen and his wife Lenora, Peculiar, Mo. and Roger Allen Wallen and his wife Faye, Lee's Summit, Mo.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, the Rev. Kenneth Nichols, her first husband, Homer T. Wallen and second husband Glen B. Middaugh.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park also in Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon between 1 and 2 p.m., prior to the service.

The family suggests that memorials may be made in her honor to the Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund in care of the funeral home.
