Russell Don Robb

Russell Don Robb, 89, of Uniontown, Kan., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at the Mercy Health Center of Fort Scott. He was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Xenia, Kan., the son of Jesse and Geneva Jean (Stevenson) Robb. He married Vineta R. Potter Nov. 6, 1942, in Fort Scott, Kan. She survives of the home.

Russell was a lifelong resident of Bourbon County, attending Bronson High School, and was self-employed as a farmer and also hauling lime. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge of Xenia. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II in the 463rd Bombardier Group, from August of 1942 until November of 1945.

He is survived by his wife, Vineta, three daughters; Kathy Jean Budd and husband Albert, Richards, Mo., Dona Marie Spencer and husband Harry, Fort Scott, and Karin Sue Morrison and husband L.D., Redfield, Kan.; 16 grandchildren Albert Lee Budd and wife Brenda, Russell Budd, David Budd and wife Wendy, Amber Cain and husband Steve, Holly Lefevre, Jess Spencer and wife Maegan, Andrew Spencer, Clint Morrison, and Jeffrey Morrison; six great-grandchildren, Kendall Spencer, Anthony Budd and wife Katie, Codee Budd, Coree Budd, Gus Cain, and Clara Cain; and one great-great-grandchild, Brice Budd. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Eugene Robb; and three sisters, Marjorie Waite, Irene Jaro, and Elizabeth Stewart.

The Rev. Steve Miles will conduct funeral services 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home with burial following at the Bronson Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6--8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1, at the funeral home.
