Jon Alan Dunlap, age 63, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at his home as the result of a house fire. He was born Aug. 2, 1945, in Fort Scott, the son of Nellie Lorene Gramling Dunlap. Following the death of his natural mother, he was adopted by Ralph and May Dunlap. Jon Alan, formerly worked for Bruce Marble and Granite and most recently for Superior Wheels in Pittsburg until ill health forced his retirement. He loved to work on cars.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Alan Dunlap and wife Barbara, of Girard, Kan., and Ronald Eugene Dunlap and wife Missy, of Pittsburg, Kan.; and one daughter Lacy Dunlap, Kansas City, Kan. Also surviving are three sisters, Judy A. Howell, of Estes Park, Colo., Linda McDaniel, of Fort Scott and Mary Browning, of Dover, Penn.; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Dunlap.

The Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m., Monday in Centerville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m., until leaving for the cemetery at Cheney Witt Chapel.
