Dr. Randall Harry Weiss

Dr. Randall Harry Weiss, 55, Canton, Mo., passed away on April 29, 2009, at his home in Canton. He was born on April 14, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wis., to John Weiss and Sylvia White Weiss. He attended high school in Chicago, Ill. He later attended college in the Chicago area and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, Circle. Randall made his living as a college professor. He taught at a variety of locals including Troy State University, Blackburn University and Illinois Wesleyan. In this area, he taught at Bronaugh High School, Fort Scott Junior College, and Cottey College. His most recent tenure has been at Culver-Stockton College in Canton. He loved the violin and was very interested in aviation and the sport of tennis. He was a loving and proud father.

Survivors include his children, James William Andrews-Weiss, Nevada, Mo., and Sarah Andrews-Weiss, Nevada; his mother, Sylvia Weiss, Nevada; one brother, Lance Weiss, Chicago, Ill; former wife, Rusalyn Andrews, Nevada, Mo., several nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Mike Hannah officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
