Marilyn M. Logan, 77, Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at her home in Sheldon following a short illness. She was born Marilyn Jackson on Aug. 17, 1931, near Harwood, Mo., to Estille Henry Jackson and Lillian Irene Stockstill Jackson. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hugh Logan, of the home. Marilyn was active in the Sheldon 4-H for many years. She was a lifelong resident of Vernon County and attended Bronaugh schools until graduating from Nevada High School in 1949. She also attended the Sheldon Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband Hugh, she is survived by her daughter Kathy Thomas of Nevada; her son, Mike McGarraugh and his wife Barbara of Olive Branch, Mo.; her son, H.M. Logan and his wife Terry of Sheldon; her daughter Dana Sheat and husband Chris of Lamar, Mo., and daughter Kim Greer and husband Terry of Nevada. Other survivors include her sister Kay Briscoe of Foster, Mo.; a brother-in-law David Logan of Osage Beach, Mo.; her aunt Nadyne Bond; numerous cousins; and grandchildren, Kristen Thomas, Staci Spahr and husband Pat, Kerry Daulton, Katlyn Logan, and Whitney, Jordan, Logan and Kelli Sheat, and Teryn, Paige, Carly, and Bryce Greer. Great-grandchildren include Riley Thomas, David Spahr, Bronson Daulton, Jace Duncan, and Kaidence Wise. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held in Nevada, at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 15, at Ferry Funeral Home with Lynn Quist officiating. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery, in Sheldon, and friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home and the family will receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flower donations be made to the Vernon County Youth Fair in her name.
