Marion Howard McKee, 79, Stockton, Mo., formerly of Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Nevada, to Marion Newton McKee and Cela Lila Fisher McKee. He married Germaine F. Vogel on Feb. 4, 1955, in Chicago, Ill., and she survives of the home.

Howard grew up in Nevada and attended Nevada schools. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1946-1950. Howard was a self-employed truck driver all of his life until his recent retirement. For the past 15 years, he and Gerry have made their home in Stockton. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Stockton. Howard was a lifetime member of BPO Elks No. 564 in Nevada.

Howard is survived by his wife Gerry of the home; two daughters, Cela Sullivan and her husband John, Kansas City, Mo., Marian Erwin and her husband Russ, Nevada; three grandchildren, Robin J. Williams, Nevada, Ashton McKee Erwin, Wichita, Kan., and Bradley Russell Erwin, Kansas City, Mo.; one great-grandchild, Jacey Malane Williams; one sister, Beverly McKee, Gower, Mo.; two nieces, Gail Current, Gower, Mo., Mindy Garcia, Jenks, Okla.; and one nephew, Greg Slad, Brainard, Minn. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Bastow and Shirley Goll, and one nephew Michael Vogel.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Father Justin Hoye officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nevada. Rosary services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening Sept. 11, with visitation following from 7-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Nevada R-5 Foundation for the Library Department in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
