Dorothy Lee Gensler, 69, Nevada, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Freeman Health Systems, Joplin. She was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Nevada, Mo., to Charles William Ryan and Hattie Marie May Ryan.

Dorothy was born and reared in Nevada and spent virtually her entire life here. She was a homemaker and liked playing bingo, and embroidery.

Survivors include six children, Julie Bailey and her husband Robert, Robert Driver and his wife Mary, Ronald Gensler and his wife Regina, Donald Driver and Amy Fenton, and Tammy Eador, all of Nevada, Mo., David Cagle and his wife Abby, Kirksville, Mo.; grandchildren, Ryan Miller and Billy Miller, Gainsville, Fla., Will Bailey, Pittsburg, Kan., Brittaney Bailey, Katie Cagle, Tyler Cagle, Nicholas Cagle, Marrissa Driver, Sammy Driver, Dedria Driver, Jordon Smith, Gary Fenton, Skyler Fenton, Michael Schneider, Scott Eador and Dominic Eador, all of Nevada, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Ethen Bailey and Brilynn Bailey, both of Nevada, Mo.; two sisters, Velma Johnston and Judy Brokob, both of Nevada, Mo.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles Ryan and George Ryan, and two sisters, Rosie Thornburg and Betty Thornburg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo., with pastor Jeff Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, between 6 and 7 p.m.
