Nancy May Elliott, 86, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at her home in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 20, 1923, in Walker, to Albert Grant Latta and Katherine Frances Turner Latta. She married Russell A. Williams on Nov. 14, 1940, in Nevada, after a brief courtship. After announcing their marriage to her family, she returned to his home in Aurora, Ill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1962.

Nancy grew up in the Lebeck/Coal Hill area near El Dorado Springs, Mo., returning to Walker for the summers during her childhood. Nancy and Russell had two children, John M. Williams, born in Aurora and Bonnie J. Ochs born in Fredric, Wis. Both are now living in Nevada. After living for several years in California and the death of Russell she returned to Missouri to be near her family. In 1969 she met and married Henry (Jack) Elliott in Miami, Okla., on Dec. 6, 1971. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1975. She remained in Nevada for the rest of her life except for a brief time spent in Clarkston, Wash., with the companion of a beloved friend. Nancy was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She will dearly be missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, John M. Williams, Bonnie J. Ochs and her husband Glenn R. all of Nevada; two grandchildren, Scott Fox, Nevada, and Nancy Kellogg and her husband Paul, Pittsburg, Kan.; four great-grandchildren, Scott Joseph Fox, Fort Scott, Kan., Damon Scott, Alaina Marie, and Samual Ray Kellogg of Pittsburg, Kan,; also surviving are her sister-in-law, Ruth Latta, El Dorado Springs; three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alleene Pratt, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; two brothers, Albert McKinny in World War II and Ralph Latta, El Dorado Springs, and both husbands.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at El Dorado Springs City Cemetery with Nancy's niece, Katheryn Radar and her husband Burris, officiating. Friends may call now and until 12:30 p.m., on Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., today at the funeral home.
